Description
Yoga means Union, yolk. The practice of club yoga is a modern expression of the fusion of two very effective ancient systems: Eastern club swinging and Hatha yoga. Yoga means many different things to many different people, and many yogis follow a certain line that resonates with them. We recognize that yoga can be a spiritual practice, it can be a devotional practice, and it can be a physical practice that leads to other intellectual research. My personal yoga journey has taken me to some really amazing places in the world. I sang, meditated, practiced handstands, headstands, and pranayama. I searched for visions, went to retreats, fasted, cleansed, and so on. All that defines the yoga subculture, I dedicate and fully respect those who identify with the yoga purist. However, in the end, I need my bells to fully Express my yoga. Clubbell Yoga is the practice of strength and intelligent movement. It is not dogmatic, but it is open to interpretations that arise when the flow state is reached. It is based on accuracy, anatomical alignment, and breathing. The practice itself is inspiring, elegant, and challenging – a fusion of power and yoga. Clubs are a unique support in that most of the weight is distributed over the handle, so when held upright it requires more muscle activation in the shoulder girdle muscles, postural muscles, and core to keep it steady. This is different from holding a small dumbbell, where the skeletal structure takes on most of the weight. When using clubbells in Vinyasa streams, your Clubbell ® becomes an extension of your arms and essentially calls on the internal and external core muscles to hold it upright. Clubbell ® then becomes a somatic reminder to keep your core turned on and your arms turned on during power poses in yoga. Because of its long shape, Clubbell ® can be very easily integrated into yoga poses where the arm serves as a long lever (creating more resistance). Vinyasa yoga involves many transitions to move from one pose to another in a flow. When Clubbell ® is activated in Vinyasa, the body becomes Hyper-aware of the hand holding the Clubbell ® and must move through space in a safe and efficient way. In addition, the bell moves in all degrees of freedom, which involves the stabilizing muscles of the shoulder and core. If you add Clubbell ® to your Vinyasa yoga practice, you will trigger a training response. By adding a little resistance to your arm (a mini bell), you will quickly become stronger in your shoulders. For example, the main weight-bearing pose in the Vinyasa sun salute is the Chaturanga ( triceps push-up). If the main pose used to get better in Chaturanga is the pose itself, then it can take a very long time. However, if you strengthen your shoulder girdle muscles in other vertical positions with weights, your Chaturanga will improve faster than without it. Clubbell Yoga also includes athletic movement training in each class. There is time to prepare and strengthen your flow by practicing mind and body exercises.Clubbell yoga fusion will strengthen your yoga if you are patient and practice. It’s really an honor to teach, and I hope you enjoy Clubbell yoga and bring it to many other people in your own life.
