Generative Trance 12 days Seminar by Stephen Gilligan

12 days intensive generative trance
Generative Trance is an experiential workshop for those interested in exploring trance and its relationship to creativity and change. Colloquially known for many years as “trans camp”, this is a fantastic opportunity to work with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and professions; coaches, therapists, business leaders and individuals using tools for personal growth and transformation
This comprehensive training in generative trance is one of our main paths to certification with IAGC as a generative change practitioner.
What is “trance”?
Trance is seen primarily as a natural state of learning from within, rather than an artificial state created or controlled by an external “hypnotist.” Generative Trance teaches the skills to cultivate these higher states of consciousness with the goal of improving health, happiness, healing, and helping others. Generative Trance is open to those seriously interested in generative personality changes and altered states of consciousness. This is not a workshop for receiving personal therapy or learning therapy with others; it is an experiential community for learning how to experience and use generative states of consciousness. He views each trance as an experiment in consciousness and shows how trance skills can allow these experiments to lead to many new patterns. The goal is to learn how to create a generative self that can transform your life in many powerful ways.
The generative trance experience has many dimensions. The course usually runs from 9 am to 6 pm every day. Each day is filled with Dr. Gilligan’s conversations, group trances, Dr. Gilligan’s work with volunteer clients, generative trance exercises with partners, and group discussions. Trances begin simply and briefly, gradually deepening and expanding into the main parts of transformational work. There is a group of experienced assistants there to help as needed, and we all work to keep the group space safe, intimate, and fun. In addition to the main course, there are optional early morning qigong classes and optional evening activities (45-minute movement practice “dance journey to yourself” as well as presentations on related topics and the latest evening trance follies).
Generative Trance is also known as “trance camp”, which has been aptly named by previous participants in Stephen’s Summer Residency Program. They felt that the training was like an amazing and timeless “summer camp” where people gather to enjoy a safe and intense transformational community experience.

Hypnosis smokes
Hypnosis is a human condition involving focused attention, decreased peripheral awareness, and increased ability to respond to suggestion.
There are competing theories explaining hypnosis and related phenomena.
Altered state theories view hypnosis as an altered state of consciousness or trance, characterized by a level of awareness that is different from the normal state of consciousness.
In contrast, nonstate theories view hypnosis as a form of placebo effect, redefinition of interaction with the therapist, or a form of imaginary role-playing.
It is said that during hypnosis, a person’s concentration increases.
Hypnotized subjects are said to exhibit heightened responses to suggestions.
Hypnosis usually begins with hypnotic induction, which includes a series of preliminary instructions and suggestions.
The use of hypnosis for therapeutic purposes is called “hypnotherapy”, while its use as a form of entertainment for the audience is known as “stage hypnosis.”
Stage hypnosis is often performed by mentalists practicing the art form of mentalism.
