Cmos Analog Circuit Design
Description
What will you learn
Understanding the broad perspective of analog IC design
Update their understanding of analog IC design if they have been away from the field for a period of time
Understand the requirements for an analog IC designer
See how technology, modeling, and circuitry come together in analog IC design
Have a top-level understanding of sources, amplifiers, operational amplifiers, comparators and DACs and ADCs
Look to the future of analog IC design
Requirements
Students should have an interest in the topic of analog IC design, or at least motivation to learn what it is
There are no prerequisites, but any previous knowledge of the topic will help the student get more out of the class
Description
This is a high-level look at what analog IC design is and discusses the requirements for a designer in this area. In fact, this course is a snapshot of a more detailed 40-hour course on CMOS analog design found elsewhere.
The target audience of this course should have some understanding of analog circuits and integrated circuit technology. The terminology used is found in both academia and industry.
This course is self-contained and does not include quizzes or other material – it is intended to provide a quick update or introduction to analog IC design. The course will take about 3 hours and consist of 12 lectures 15-20 minutes long.
Students new to analog IC design can take this course to gain an overview of the topic. Those who are familiar with or have been absent from the field for a while can use this course to get up to speed with the field of analog IC design.
A more detailed 40-hour course on CMOS Analog Design can be found elsewhere (Continuing Professional Development at Imperial College London) and has quizzes related to the course. Consult the instructor, Dr. Allen, if you are interested in an advanced course or visit the Imperial College website.
Who is this course for:
This analog IC design overview should be adopted by anyone looking for a quick update or general introduction to analog IC design.
This course will prepare the student to explore in more detail what is found elsewhere (www.aicdesign.org) on the topic.
This course can be taken to identify students’ interest in analog IC design.
