Certification Training for Compassion Fatigue Professionals (CCFP) by Bessel Van der Kolk , Eric Gentry, Janina Fisher
DESCRIPTION
Did you burn your job as a professional caregiver?
Dr. Eric Gentley (LMHC), an internationally recognized leader in trauma care, explains: “There is no way to provide professional care unless it has a negative impact on our lives. I have seen many good caregivers in this field say “enough”. The exhaustion of compassion burns out and leaves the field. ”
When a caregiver experiences caring fatigue, the following are feelings of despair, stress, and inadequacy.
That’s why Dr. Gentry designed this powerful Compassion Fatigue Professional Certification (CCFP) online training. Based on 15 years of groundbreaking research with caring fatigue, this online training can help you regain your sense of mission, purpose, hope and joy as a caregiver.
Through this training, you will learn professional evidence-based resilience skills, relieve stress and counter the emotional demands of your work.
In addition, you can meet the requirements of the International Association of Trauma Professionals (IATP) Certified Merciful Fatigue Experts and teach patients how to lead a more hopeful and enjoyable life.
Join Dr. Gentry and reinvigorate your work to end your suffering.
What you will learn:
This is an intermediate level certification and course for care level professionals or volunteers. Being a certified Merciful Fatigue Professional can bring your mission, purpose, hope and joy back to the office.

Understanding historical developments in the field of care delivery that led to the concept of compassionate fatigue (eg, diagnosis of PTSD in DSM — III, compensatory trauma, burnout studies, etc.)
Its two major components: the ability to elucidate the etiology of sympathetic fatigue due to secondary traumatic stress and burnout.
Clearly understand the potential symptoms and effects associated with caring fatigue.
Interpretation of skilled and compassionate fatigue assessment devices for self and others, with a primary focus on Pro-QOL (Stamm, 2005).
Ability to recognize and explain one’s personal/professional history, which can lead to negative consequences associated with providing professional and/or volunteer care.
Understand the role of threat and perception of sympathetic dominance in the generation of compassionate fatigue symptoms, and conversely, the role of self-regulation in ameliorating current effects and preventing future effects.

Case Study
Explanation:
Rehabilitation of cognitive impairment is becoming more complex. Patients receiving your treatment present with complex, multi-faceted cognitive impairments, who can understand and improve their cognition in up to 5 days, 48 minutes per week. Keeping up with ever-changing evidence for the assessment and intervention of acquired cognitive impairment can be daunting. Earlier learning in a postgraduate training program may already be outdated. In addition, we are ready to apply our knowledge to the clinical context. We will review the application of anatomy and physiology to routine practice, confirm the relevance of currently valid clinical practice, and adapt new practices supported by modern evidence. Join Jerry Hoepner, PhD and CCC-SLP to gain a clear understanding of the functional manifestations of cognitive impairment, organize cognition into manageable paradigms and establish functional goals to guide effective treatment.
