Anabolic Energizers by Elliott Hulse
Description
Johnny hits his sister in the back of the head with a crumpled pillow that has fallen into the far end of the pillowcase, and knocks her out of bed – face down! When Johnny’s father scolds him and asks, “Johnny, you know better … why the hell did you do that?”
Johnny admits that he knows better, but he has absolutely no compelling reason why he “went to the deep end,” he just “forgot”.
I think what actually happened is that Johnny allowed his most primal (and undeveloped self) to get a moment in the sun. This “primal urge” to do what we know we shouldn’t do comes to all of us at one point or another. We “know better,” but still we get carried away in the moment and let instinct drive our best judgment.
One area where I made this mistake, “Elliot, you know better!”, Has to do with how I train and how I have failed to keep track of my harrowing, catabolic tirades with anabolic exercise and lifestyle habits.
This imbalance penetrates deeply into our physiology and disrupts the natural balance of the nervous and endocrine systems. Leaving us too aroused and undernourished.
This is how it works …
So there is a branch of your central nervous system called the autonomic nervous system (ANS). Your ANS is responsible for all nerve functions that you don’t need to think about. This includes heart rate, digestion, hormone secretion, breathing and sweating … among many other things.
Within your ANS, you have two opposite branches … your sympathetic (SNS) and parasympathetic (PSN) nerve branches. Each branch acts like two ends of the saw. When one side is stimulated, the other side is suppressed.
Both sides have their advantages …
SNS stimulates the production of catabolic hormones adrenaline and cortisol. Both of these hormones are needed to get you to get up and go in the morning, keep you exercising intensely, and energize you in a stressful situation (think about being chased by an angry baboon!)
The PNS stimulates the release of anabolic and sex hormones such as testosterone and growth hormone … your body’s own natural source of natural anabolic steroids!
The problem is that most people have a serious imbalance between these two branches. It is this imbalance that makes us sick, tired, fat and old!
So if you haven’t figured it out yet … many of us are sympathetically overwhelmed – this means that our SNS is overstimulated and in turn we are in a constant state of fight or flight. When you are in this predicament, you can rest assured that all the anabolic hormones associated with PNS are suppressed …
This leads to:
Decreased Strength And Vitality
poor concentration
chronic fatigue
Foggy Delirium
Decreased Sex Drive
night sweats
Orgasm / Genital Inhibition
Waking up un-rest
Anxiety
Nervous
fungal infection
Constipation
digestive upset
Rashes And Skin Problems
Decreased Immunity
Increased Risk of Injury
Poor Sleep – Waking Up In Cold Sweat
Complete Loss Of Your Ability To Realize Your True Potential And Become The Strongest Version Of Yourself!
Does any of this sound familiar to you? If you experience 2 or more of the above symptoms … you suffer from an imbalance and must read the following very carefully!
You can take all supplements, eat healthy organic foods, exercise regularly, and you still won’t get anywhere. This is due to a fundamental problem that has not been resolved … balancing your nervous system. If your nervous system is dysfunctional, then so is everything else!
So, How Did I Get This Way?
The simple answer is poor lifestyles and dietary choices … you eat shitty food, don’t drink enough water, your wife pisses you off, your boss is a jerk, you don’t sleep on time or get enough sleep, you abuse alcohol and caffeine, should I continue over training?
Excessive Stress Hormones Are Secreted Due To:
financial stress
Poor Food Quality
Binge eating
Improper Nutrition For Your Metabolic Type
Relationship Problems
sexual problem
Toxic Environment
polluted air
chlorinated water
Poor Sleep Mode
Negative thoughts, words, and actions
Improper use of exercise or overtraining (like mine)
– Well And What Can I Do With It?
What Bothers You So? “If you understand this, you will be half way. Most of your major stresses are likely to be related to safety (survival, financial security) or sexual issues.
Do Something With It – – Elliot, do you think I would have done something with that crazy wife and credit card bills already? ” – No, you didn’t do anything because you didn’t set a goal and didn’t make a plan to achieve it …. Otherwise it wouldn’t be stressful anymore.
Remember, “old = old” – it’s only when you decide to take decisive action to eliminate the major stressors in your life that they will disappear. No one else is responsible for this!
And you must do it! I really don’t want to hear any of the old tired excuses people use to keep living their sick, sad, dysfunctional lives. Radical results require drastic measures … just do it!
Eat Right – Make sure you are adequately prepared to deal with stress by filling your body with nutritious foods. Drink plenty of water. Eat more fat and protein during times of stress. Take a fish oil supplement. Avoid toxic foods and processed foods. Eat right for your metabolic type. …
It is when you are most stressed that you need the most nutritious foods … this is also the time when junk food seems most appealing, watch out!
Exercise, Right! – Excessive exercise, especially aerobic exercise, can do more harm than good. In fact, “over-aerobising” can lead to an increase in catabolic hormones (think SNS) such as cortisol and glucocordicoids.
Make sure you include a sufficient amount of anaerobic exercise in your program. This will include strength training (less than 60 minutes at a time) and anabolic energizer exercises that I will teach you later. In fact, if you’re feeling really stressed, these Energizer Anabolic Exercises will lower your stress levels and rebalance your nervous system, forcing you to release more testosterone, and more!
Sleep – Go to bed as many hours before midnight as you can. I once learned that every hour of sleep spent before 12 am is worth 3 hours after midnight!
Think Right – The power of your thoughts shapes your life. You are literally what you think. Regular mental exercises such as meditation help you “see through the clouds” of your life. Plus, there are many mind power techniques you can use to keep your mind focused on the things you want and the things you don’t want.
Using daily affirmations is a powerful tool … it is like planting flowers intentionally in the garden of your mind. And remember, if you don’t plant flowers, your garden will be filled with weeds by default!
Ignoring lifestyle and balance in order to excel in surface strength and muscle building often results in a diminished return on our investment. Leaving us sick, sad, tired, and dissatisfied. Leading a balanced life is much more than setting aside a certain amount of time to cross all the important things off your to-do list … it also means letting go of our outer life (including creating outer strength) for a few moments to allow our inner strength (nervous and hormonal systems) to catch up and support our efforts instead of working against us.
