This video introduces American Style Nunchaku. It covers all the basic movements and covers the fundamentals of learning and creating routines, including footwork. Techniques taught in Chakus 1 are listed below. The last 3 techniques in the Advanced Instruction section are for double nunchakus (two pairs).
AMERICAN STYLE NUNCHAKUSA kata (form) is a set of movements designed for practice to help improve elements of a skill. This volume covers three different individual nunchaku kata. Blitz Kata is designed for beginners and is short and very simple to learn. The Black Belt Random Kata is longer and involves more complicated footwork. The Blitz 2 Kata is a combination of the first two and serves as a nice step in between.
.AMERICAN STYLE NUNCHAKUS (1)If you thought learning individual nunchaku moves was easy, this video will help you learn some humility. Double nunchaku exercises are challenging, but not impossible. Once the fundamentals are learned, a whole new world of possibilities opens up. This video includes some new techniques and the Double Dragons Kata which looks harder than it really is, like any good skill in the manipulation arts.
AMERICAN STYLE NUNCHAKUS (2)In this video, the whole style is briefly revised, and some new techniques are added. But, as Michael says during his instructions, “if this is your first Chakus DVD, you have the wrong video.” Also included are Dragons and Dragons 2 kata, which will be familiar to viewers of Chakus 2, but contain much more variety.
AMERICAN STYLE NUNCHAKUS (3)This video brings all the skills taught on the last four DVDs together and offers exercises and kata designed to test your knowledge and skill. Most of the video is devoted to working on the three kata, but some things are revised and some advanced footwork is taught in preparation for doing the kata.
