Hankido is a relatively new style of hapkido, recently developed by “Kuksanim” Myung Jae Nam. Myung Jae Nam studied traditional hapkido with Ji Han Jae which formed the basis of this new art. Traditional hapkido consists of around 3000 techniques, but Myung’s disciples wanted something more, something that could be an inexhaustible subject of study within their martial art. With this, Myung Jae Nam, after contact with a Japanese aikido master, even becoming the representative of that art in Korea, developed his own style based on hapkido and aikido.
