Forged in the crucible of the application, Dog Brothers Martial Arts seeks truth in action. One piece of truth we discovered is the Thai military weaponry system of Krabi Krabong– the root of the ring sport of Muay Thai.

Over time, we’ve developed a distinct combination of KK and Filipino Kali that we think has a lot of fight merit. The initials of the two combined would yield KKK– which would be highly misunderstanding! So we called our mixture of the two “Los Triques”, which means “the three Ks”.

This DBMA subsystem is particularly suitable for larger poles. The training here is based around a “loop generator”, which allows for training crazed primal strength in a safe and enjoyable way so as to install “the Salty Strike” and the kicks that flow from it to enter media and cut tracks in a safe technical manner that truly allows the techniques of these ranges to be achieved in real time.

Dog Brothers Martial Arts – Cycle DrillsIn “Combining Stick & Footwork” and “Attacking Blocks” we covered core ideas about protecting the head and tackling both with linear and angular footwork (the Snaggletooth and the Diamond).

The lower canine triangles are ideal for both probing attacks (if successful, continue the attack and if not, break) and for countering aggressive linear attacks.
