Introduction to Psychology by Paul Bloom
DESCRIPTION
What does your dream mean? Are the nature and intensity of sexual desire different between men and women? Can apes learn sign language? Why can’t we scratch ourselves? This course attempts to answer these questions and many others, thus providing a comprehensive overview of the scientific research on thought and behavior. It explores topics such as perception, communication, learning, memory, decision-making, religion, persuasion, love, desire, hunger, art, novels and dreams. We will study how these aspects of children’s psychology develop, how they differ from person to person, how they connect in the brain, and how they break down due to illness and injury.
